IMPORTANT SURVEY – YOU CAN HELP electrify NJ buildings
The NJ 50x30 Building Electrification team is advocating for NJ support to meet NJ homeowners heating & cooling system needs.  We will use your experiences with contractors and with heat pump home upgrades to help create a vendor recommendation tool and recommend needed areas of vendor training.

We are collecting stories from homeowners who worked with HVAC contractors, during the last 1-2 years, to install a heat pump to replace a defective AC, and/or replace existing central oil, gas, or electric baseboard heating systems. Also, describe your experience with mini-split (ductless) heat pumps.

1. What was your experience locating contractors and getting bids which included a heat pump?   Did you use your utility online list of contractors & did the list meet your need?
2. Describe each contractor’s bid, and differences between contractors bids.  Were the contractors knowledgeable about rebates and financing?  Did they provide you adequate information about heat pump options such as cold climate heat pumps, ducted and/or ductless versions, or discuss electric heater options for supplementary heat for low temperature backup?
3. Describe your most important decision factors, and how well individual contractors met your needs.
4. After installation, were you satisfied with the comfort and performance of the heating/cooling system.  If not satisfied, please describe problem resolution.
5. Include names and contacts for recommended HVAC contractors you would highly recommend to others (also include equipment manufacturers & model numbers, and total price)
